I have replaced just<br>about every part in the gearbox including the second gear which I thought was<br>the problem as the synchro was bottoming out or touching the face of gear it<br>was well worn. Went yesterday for my first test drive and all of the gears<br>worked perfectly and shifted very smoothly but when I try to downshift from<br>third to second it grinds terribly I had to come to a complete stop to be able<br>to shift it into second gear. It shifts from 1st to 2nd no problem third and<br>fourth gears work very well as does reverse. Do you have any suggestions? I couldn’t<br>find anything on the tolerances between the gears would you have access to some<br>kind of chart or spec sheet? My other thought was the plunger in the sliding<br>hub might not be engaging on the first motion shaft.
