color:#1F497D'>There are two dampers shown in the parts manual for BJ7/BJ8, the
earlier one from BJ7 up to BJ8 engine serial 29K/RU/H10271. This is a
two-piece item with the pulley separate from the hub. The later damper with
integral pulley is effective from engine 29K/RU/H10272 and up.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

color:#1F497D'>My BJ8 engine is 29K/RU/H11327 and it has the later integral
damper. It has a different configuration on the front to the damper shown in
Harold’s photo. I don’t believe his damper is from a BJ8.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

member our Healey club has started a restoration of a BJ8 with an unknown
history. There wasn’t a serial number or any identify marks on the engine but
the engine was painted blue and has a strange crankshaft damper. See attached
picture. Does anyone recognize this crankshaft damper? Was it an aftermarket
option back in the day? Did it come from a Westminster or ????<o:p></o:p></p>
