<p>The roadster arms are indeed quite different than the convertible arms. The pre-BJ7 arms have a leaf spring and they are straight (blades are parallel to the arms), with a J-shaped insert into the blade. BJ7 and BJ8 arms have a coil spring and have a straight push into the blade. The BJ7/8 arms are are bent at the ends so the blades park along the bottom windshield rubber. There was a difference also between BJ7 and BJ8 arms in that the BJ7 arms were not able to sit up off the windshield by themselves when lifted, but the BJ8 arms stayed upright.</p>
