I <i>think</i>--not sure--the packing washer is the one that goes
under the C-clip, which keeps the guts of the M/C inside. If it
wasn't fitted, the first time you applied the brakes the innards
could spill out on the floorboard.<br>

My BJ8 came with a packing 'pieces' under the clutch cylinder, but I
forgot to put it back in once and haven't missed it.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal">Who knows what the purpose of the Master
Cylinder Packing Piece is? There are 4 on the brake master
cylinder and none on the clutch master cylinder. As far as I
can tell the packing piece would reduce the distance the push
rod can travel into the bore of the master cylinder. Is there
an adjustment for the brake pedal and push rod that you use
these packing pieces to set?</p>
