    I think the 'knock' on big, heavy belts are weight and vibration;
    note later cars have thinner belts (but, 3/8" was apparently a
    bridge too far).<br>

      What's wrong with the original belt? Seems,if properly adjusted,
      works just fine.  It's available from AH Spares for $16.50 and is
      a Midway B4317X (shown here). The only downside is if you wish to
      concours your car, the writing on the belt may lose you a point.
