Patrick,

Which 'rubbers' are you referring to, the pads or the 'sleeves' that
hold the reflectors? I got good quality pads from BCS. I think a bit
of fiddling would align them better, but it seemed a small matter in
the course of a 10-year restoration (now I'll have to go back and
'fix' this ;). I don't recall any issues, it's just a couple #10
studs, right? As for the 'sleeves,' use soapy water or
glycerine--got any Astroglide lying around?--and a popsickle stick
or similar small, blunt instrument to 'feed' the housing into the
rubber (carefully).

I'd heard that the repop reflector housings and 'sleeves'--what're
they called?--were sub-par but, years ago there was a fellow down
south CA who worked for Pratt&Whitney designing jet engines who
made correct housings from spun brass and triple chrome plated them
(and made the rubber 'sleeves' from molds from originals). Anyone
know if this fellow is still around? IIRC, he contacted me offline
and was going design and make steering gear worms but I never heard
from him about them.
