One caveat is you have to permanently modify the cover plate by removing the center pad. The carbon throw out bearing always seemed odd to me but I have no knowledge of why it was designed that way. I thought that one replaced the latter <b>every time</b> one got near it and that one replaced the plate <b>as and if needed</b>. But – I thought – the cover is just a hunk of iron and <b>didn’t ever need replacing</b>.
