<html><body>David-help this guy out here...he is getting desperate! He has been at this project for months and can't get enough pressure. What size reamer and where can he get one? He lives in UK. Smacking the check ball will not make a new seat in the pump. You
must cut a new seat with a special reamer. <br><br><div dir="ltr">

<div dir="ltr">Simon- two things...did some of that "Plastic
Metal" (JB Weld) that you found, get into the plunger/pump body and
"weld" it together? It (plunger) must move up and down with
the action of the cam on the mainshaft to "pump" oil. (the wheel on
the end should also be free to rotate)
<div><br></div>
<div>Secondly, the new 1/4" ball you fitted to the pump body
opening-did you smack it to seat with the body hole??...this is
very important as if it does not seal perfectly, you will get "0"
pressure. </div>

<div>Yes, you can engage/disengage the OD with the lever, sans the
solenoid. Hank<br><br><div class="reply-new-signature"></div>

<div>No when you put a rod up through the hole in the center of the
pump body lower flange you will be pressing on the end of the
piston which will move up and down as the overdrive is
rotated.</div>
<div>The spring merely holds the piston roller against the cam
until pressure is established. </div>
<div>If the piston does not move up and down with no influence from
that "rod" it is jamming in the body and this must be
corrected.</div>
