A little off the subject but I have a problem keeping the choke control from rotating on the wood dash on my BJ8. Anyone have a solution?<br>

<div dir="ltr">Saying friction is a little misleading. When one pulls the choke out it ratchets along a small half-moon dog. This dog is held in place by a spring ring surrounding this area. To release the choke it is necessary to rotate the knob about a quarter
of a turn where this relieves the pressure on the dog and moves it to one side thus allowing the choke to be pushed in.

<div>I have seen owners who do not rotate the knob and then try to force the knob it thus causing damage.</div>

<div dir="auto">It’s pretty simple, you cut a slot in the sheath near the knob , install a half moon, and slip a spring steel cylinder over the half moon.</div>

<div>Usually there's a little half moon in there which wears out, so if you just fabricate a new half moon, the friction lock will work again.</div>

<div>If yes, do any of the suppliers sell a repro that includes a good quality lock with the correct knob or even better does anyone have a good used OE one for sale? </div>
