<div class="PlainText">These washers were there to help distribute the pressure on the timing cover
<br>
gasket and help seal. Over the years the cover distorts and they don’t work <br>
as well. So we have made a ring that goes around the timing cover completely <br>
on the 100 and the bottom 2/3 of the 6 cylinder motors. It replaces the oval <br>
washers and helps stop the seeping of the timing cover gaskets.<br>

For the record, I am pretty sure it is my motor that Mike is working on. I <br>
have a Heritage Certificate which gives the build date as 29 Sept to 6 <br>
October, 1959. Dispatch date was 13 October. That was for the car, and <br>
they may have had motors built up and waiting for installation, but it ties <br>
it down fairly closely.<br>

It really would be interesting to have dates for the engines, but engine <br>
stamps don't necessarily reflect build order.<br>
