<p>Most likely the radios would have been after-market. The radios
were valve radios (most were two very bulky and heavy units with
the amplifier/power supply often fitted in the engine compartment)
until the mid/late '50's, followed by radios with valves and
transistors combined (most still two units but less bulky and
fitted inside the cabin) and the full transistor radio was
introduced from about 1960 (one unit). Nearly all were AM but
there were some radios with FM from the mid '50's (e.g.
Telefunken, Becker, Blaupunkt, Grundig, Philips). Nearly all these
radio's could be switched to the desired polarity and voltage.<br>
</p>
<p>Different radio's were supplied by the dealers in different
countries because of differences in the required band width.</p>
<p>It would be logical to find BMC radio's if dealer supplied, but
Motora may be another contender. These were all (mainly?) AM only.</p>
