<div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">OK, to further muddy the water up. I measured the diameter and overall length of two different tappets according to the original service manual. (reprint) The diameter is spot on for both tappets. The follower with the four holes has the correct overall length. The three hole tappet is taller, but the bottom of the pocket where the pushrod seats is recessed further in matching the height of the four hole tappet seat. So now they both will work? If that is the case I'm leaning toward the four hole version for two reasons. One, it has the correct overall length. Two, oil will flow back out the tappet back to the pan better. Less weight going up and down too. Am I going in the right direction here?
