<div dir="ltr">Thanks to everyone for their help with this.<div><br></div><div>David is, of course, absolutely correct. I do have an early Longbridge BN4 and the original pipe would have come through higher up and entered the tank vertically. So, it has obviously been 'modified' in the past!</div><div><br></div>Therefore, it looks like the easiest thing to do would be to try either Bob's idea for a flexible braided stainless fuel line or Elton's ideas for a BSPP swivel.<div><br></div><div>I'll let you know how I get on.<br><div><br></div><div>Many thanks all</div><div><br></div><div>Paul</div><div>100/6 BN4</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">---------- Forwarded message ---------<br>From: <strong class="gmail_sendername" dir="auto">Paul Leeks</strong> <span dir="auto"><<a href="mailto:paull@glasgows.co.uk" target="_blank">paull@glasgows.co.uk</a>></span><br>Date: Wed, 29 Apr 2020 at 13:08<br>Subject: Fuel tank issue<br>To: <<a href="mailto:healeys@Autox.Team.Net" target="_blank">healeys@Autox.Team.Net</a>> <<a href="mailto:healeys@autox.team.net" target="_blank">healeys@autox.team.net</a>><br></div><br><br><div dir="ltr">Hi all<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">I hope someone can help me with a problem I have with fitting a new fuel tank from AH Spares on my 100/6 BN4.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div>On attempting installation, I have found that the fuel pipe on the car doesn't line up with the boss on the fuel tank (and there is no flexibility in the outlet pipe as it does an immediate right angle on the other side of the boot wall).</div><div><br></div><div>I had assumed the replacement tank would be an exact match for the original but, as you can see from the pictures attached, with the tank dead centre in the boot and as tight to the rear wall as possible, the boss is too far back and off to the left; meaning I cannot get it attached. At a push I could set the tank off-centre, but I would still be about 2cm too short.</div><div><br></div><div>I have attached some pics to show what I mean. </div><div><br></div><div>AH Spares tells me to buy a new fuel pipe kit from them, but also tells that the pipe is of a fixed length and the bend I need to get it on to reach the tank boss (as it is at the moment) is a little extreme and will probably kink it.</div><div><br></div><div></div><div>As always, any advice would be gratefully received.<br></div><div><div><div><br></div></div></div><div>Many thanks</div><div><br></div><div>Paul Leeks</div><div>100/6 BN4</div><div><br></div></div>
