IIRC, the stud holes are blind holes; if there was some oil in the
bottom of the holes you'd get a 'false bottom' when you screwed the
stud in. The slot lets the oil out.<br>

When you look at the picture attached to this email can someone
tell me what the purpose of the channel machined lengthwise in the
threads on the block end of this head stud?
