Here is one for the early 3000 owners.

I'm working on some
corrections in the Concours Guidelines and trying to get confirmation of
something that is stated within them.

The Guidelines state "On
the BN4, the front grille flash had the number "6" in a circle cast into
the badge following the "100". This badge may also have been used on
some of the first 340 BT7/BN7s produced in 1959".

This means that some of the first 3000's would could have had 100/6
badging and, in the interests of accuracy, we need to have this
confirmed.

When the 3000 was introduced there was a lot of razzmatazz and hoopla about the "new and improved" engine.

Considering this from the perspective of a buyer of a new 3000 I can
only imagine that he/she would be incensed if the car was delivered
with 100/6 badging!!

Does anyone out there have an early 3000 with original 100/6 badging?

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Michael Salter

Concours Guidelines Committee.
