Michael,

While I do no own a 3000, I have a 100-6 BN6 and cannot comment on what the owners will find, it appears that the factory did not bother themselves too much with that. Here is the proof, Publication 1733, a pamphlet advertising the new
Austin Healey 3000 has two 100-6 in the photo. You can clearly see, under magnifying glass, that the flash on the grille of TYV818 is a 100-6, while the car in the foreground well, you cannot tell but the rear reflectors are of the bullet types, found only
on the 100-6.

And here to make matter even more interesting, I also included Publication 1405 for the Austin Healey 100 Six and the cover photo has the extremely rare 100-6 with the door lock on the right side and the flash badge on the right hand side
too, try to find one of these? Inside the pamphlet here is a car of the same colour as the one on the cover, in front of the same house, same people in the car although it appears that the guy parted his hair on the other side on the second photo and suddenly
the steering wheel is on the other side, isn’t that amazing?

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">Here is one for the early 3000 owners.

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">I'm working on some corrections in the Concours Guidelines and trying to get confirmation of something that is stated within them.

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">The Guidelines state "On the BN4, the front grille flash had the number "6" in a circle cast into the badge following the "100". This badge may also have been used on some of the first 340 BT7/BN7s produced
in 1959".

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">This means that some of the first 3000's would could have had 100/6 badging and, in the interests of accuracy, we need to have this confirmed.

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">When the 3000 was introduced there was a lot of razzmatazz and hoopla about the "new and improved" engine.

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">Considering this from the perspective of a buyer of a new 3000 I can only imagine that he/she would be incensed if the car was delivered with 100/6 badging!!

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">Does anyone out there have an early 3000 with original 100/6 badging?

<span lang="EN-AU" style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">Thanks for taking the time to read this.
