Getting the latch aligned can take a lot of trial and error. I have tried the masking tape trick, and it was somewhat helpful. Spread a little grease on the shroud to leave a ring on the masking tape. The whole striker receiving assembly also is adjustable; the mounting holes are larger than the bolts allowing adjustment in all directions.
