<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto">This worked for me: I applied shrink-tubing over the entire length of the harness. This took care of the frayed/missing cloth. Next, I stripped the coating from a length of #12 copper wire that exceeded the length of the stator tube. I then ran this wire with a very heavy fishing line taped to the end up the tube. I then removed line from the wire and pulled copper wire out of the tube. Next, I attached the fish line to the wiring harness and applied talcum powder to the entire length of the harness before pulling it through the tube. Worked flawlessly for me. <div>I just went through this process several times on my BN7. I have a
relatively new wiring harness, but nothing I tried would get the wires back down
the tube. I ended up cutting off the metal connectors on most of the
wires, leaving one to use to attach the string. Fairly easy to replace the
tips at the front of the steering box if the grill is out of the car.</div>

<div>Well "assembly is the reverse of disassembly" right? Managed to
remove the wiring harness in the manner I have done times before. That is,
attaching a string to the har before pulling it up through the stator
tube. Problem is cannot get har back down through the tube. After
numerous attempts the string broke. Does not help that the cloth
insulation is deteriorated and missing on about the last foot of the har.</div>

<div>Any suggestions how to proceed</div>
