<p class="MsoNormal">Because there is a shiny finish on the inside of the bore and when you hone it, it takes that shine away. It may work for a short time but shortly afterwards, the problems you had will be back and likely worse. New Brake and/or Clutch Master
 cylinders are really not expensive when you consider that they are a safety item, no point trying to save money in that area in my opinion.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Corrosion on the outside is usually as indication that there is a small leak of brake fluid.  On aluminum cylinders it produces a crusty white deposit which is usually easily cleaned off. The leak will be under the corrosion. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Corrosion in the bore is not so good but can often be corrected by rebuilding the cylinder. <o:p></o:p></p>
