Replace the rubber seal that runs down both sides of the fiberglass gearbox cover on the raised flanges on the floor and between the "bell" of the cover and the firewall. I got under the car after that, with the cover installed, and used a caulk wherever I could see gaps. I don't remember which caulk I used, but it wasn't silicone (anticipate the future need to remove the cover again).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-family:"Comic Sans MS";color:#002060'>I applied insulation to both the underside and topside of the cover before installing the carpet. Insulation on the top side made my carpet fit better over the tunnel. With the help of my two great friends, After getting the timing correct and the ignition leads sorted out, the engine started and then stopped which was obviously out of fuel. The rear carb float bowel was dry because the ball valve was stuck. After cleaning out the valve and the channel in the inlet, and reassembling the carb, the engine started quickly and ran smoothly. However, the front carb is leaking from the lower housing, so I have to take it apart and install new gaskets as they must have dried up in the one year they were in storage.
