<div dir="ltr"><div class="gmail_default" style="color:rgb(51,51,255)">Bob--</div><div class="gmail_default" style="color:rgb(51,51,255)"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="color:rgb(51,51,255)">You don't say if you put in a new oil pump or checked the old one for clearances, etc. In any case, assuming the pump is functional it is sometimes recommended to pack it with vaseline or light grease to help it reprime, though I have never had to do this. </div><div class="gmail_default" style="color:rgb(51,51,255)"><br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="color:rgb(51,51,255)">At this point I would recommend that before going to the trouble of pulling the sump and doing that that you loosen the filter canister nut or back off the spin-on a few turns to lessen resistance and--after first putting some rags around the filter--spin the engine over with plugs disconnected.
