I have always had a stock SU pump in my BT7 and have replaced it just once in the 43 years I have owned the car. That includes the early years when it was my only car and thus my regular transport, and later years when it sat for long periods (months) without use, including our Canadian winter months. I don’t use any additives and have used gas containing ethanol up to this year, when I switched to a brand that contains no ethanol. At 17V, a new pump quit working in less than a year.
