Go for the ones with the grease nipples.
There may be variations in the diameter of the X pieces of the
joints. Go for the ones with the largest diameter of the shafts of
the X's. These will have the largest number of needles and will
endure a much larger load.
In the 70's/80's I used to have to change the UV joints on my
Jensen-Healey (I think they may be identical to the ones on the
A-H) about every year until I found out that I should have used
the UV joints with the larger diameter of the X piece.
After that I had very little trouble.
I have used many makes from various countries at various prices
and did not notice all that much difference in longevity.

So, a question. I’ll be
replacing the two UJs in my MkII BT7’s propshaft soon. I am
looking at the choices. Whilst they all look
the same, there are some significant price variations. And
some are sealed and some have grease nipples.

I guess that they all
had grease nipples originally and the sealed ones were a
later development. I wonder if it’s an improvement or just
cost cutting???

Personally, I think I’ll
go for the ones with the nipples.....at least that way I’ll
be forced to touch and examine them occasionally. Or are the
sealed one just as good ie a genuine improvement.

Price....are the pricier
ones actually better or just making someone richer???
