shielded as well. This happens automatically with the usual plastic or
hard rubber mounting grommet but should the exterior of the antenna somehow
touch either bare metal on the body or elsewhere a short will likely
occur. It's only 12 volts so it won't be harmful but it will certainly
get one's attention if the connection is good enough.</div>
