I don't like the idea of applying impact loads from a <br>slide hammer to bearings.<br><br>I bought a 12 point, 3/4" drive, Williams socket and used my lathe to <br>remove the chamfer. The steel was soft enough to cut; didn't need to <br>grind. I also have the Churchill 8 sided factory tool. It has a pilot <br>that fits in the axle which is nice. In my old age, I can't always <br>generate enough torque to loosen the nut with the factory tool. Could <br>make a longer rod.<br><br>Remember, the nut on the right hand side has left hand threads. There <br>is usually "RH" or "LH" stamped on one side of the nut near "MOWOG".
