It will be an early solenoid with a rubber dome on the end of the cylindrical housing. With the car in neutral, press the rubber dome to manually engage the solenoid which should trigger the starter motor. Whilst you are there you will find a White with red tracer wire connected to a lucar connector on the solenoid. That is the input to the solenoid from the starter button. Run a wire from a ‘hot’ connection at the fuse box to the lucar connector to see if that triggers the solenoid. If it does you probably have a button problem. Obviously, you have general power to the car. If the wiring to the switch is secure, then I would check for power to the starter relay. The starter button would provide power to the relay, which is simply a remote switch. When the starter button is pushed, power to the relay causes the internal coil to close the relay contacts to route power from the battery directly to the starter. If the relay isn't working, then the starter won't turn.
