<p>What is the likely fault if a brand-new dynamo gets very hot at D terminal and its insulation melted.</p>

<p>The dynamo is not fried, and relevant tests showed the dynamo is still operational.</p>

<p>We suspect the voltage regulator.</p>

<p>Has anybody had any experience with this?</p>
