<p>#554 has the Z bracket. The bracket is a little flexible and prone to vibrate so I discovered, while researching other things, that the supply line to the master cylinder needs to be secured to the firewall on the horizontal surface below. It was hard to
keep the tank full when it was vibrating, and a little destructive of paint.</p>

Body #174 had a "Z" shaped bracket between the firewall and the brake supply tank mounting band. Hard to see but just visible in this pre disassembly photo.<br>

The car that I'm currently restoring, body #793, does not have this "Z" bracket and the tank band was secured directly to the firewall. I suspect that the bracket was omitted in a previous restoration.<br>
