The rim sits the normal way and it works easily for both painted and chrome wheels. </div><div style="width: 100%; font-size: initial; font-family: Calibri, 'Slate Pro', sans-serif, sans-serif; color: rgb(31, 73, 125); text-align: initial; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">The changer works great for breaking beads and removing / replacing tires. I have not tried it yet and I was wondering if anyone has used one on wire wheels. It looks like it could work if I put the wheel with the outside hub down on the unit. I will practice on an old wire wheel and tire before I try it on my chromes.
