We have installed several of these in many Healeys. The best part is when<br />
you open the trunk and have something in your hand you do not have to worry<br />
about the prop rod being loose and swinging around and hitting the fender.<br />
I have a 185 70 15 size spare tire and it works fine, but only if you move<br />
the spare tire blocks to move the tire all the way in. But that usually is<br />
the case with or without the shock because the tire hits the trunk lid.<br />

At the time the photos were taken I had Michelin 175 ZX 15s installed. I<br />
had to move both buffer blocks in the boot and I could not fold the original<br />
support rod. Steve Thomton’s gas strut worked for the 175’s without any<br />
conflict. I now have Michelin XAS 180HR15 tires on the car, but I went with<br />
a smaller spare.<br />
