The early Tricarbs had side shifts like the one shown in the photos, later ones had center shifts.<br>
<br>
The “odd” shift lever looks exactly like the one in the used Tricarb I bought in the spring of 1962 - it wasn’t long before I cut off the upper bend and ran threads to accept the shift knob.<br>
<br>
I wonder how many other side shifts were modified this way.<br>
