Last one I bought--NOS--was from Gary Hemphill many moons ago. Have
heard there are Lucas 'repros' out there that are crap. Had no luck
with Bosch; leaked smoke like a sieve. That surprised me; they
might have been knock-offs, too. Bought some 6-cyl
distributors--same type but not for Healeys--just to get the parts
but they arrived with broken caps. Argh.<br>

If you find a source, please let us all know (but tell me first).<br>

Jumping in … I have this exact problem on my Longbridge 100~six.
Does anyone have a source for a decent distributor cap? Can you
even get Lucas? I bought a few from Moss and they were rubbish
(for various reasons - some the plastic was too thin &
cracked, others the screws were crossed threaded etc.)
