Even if you got it running by tapping it, its only delaying what is
needed to be done.
I did this for a while until it failed, fortunately for me I didn't have to
do it on the side of the road or in the rain.
I installed two pumps with a cut off toggle switch, so it also works a a
anti theft deterant.
