While it may work fine, and it doesn’t matter if the battery charging device is a generator or alternator, LED bulbs do care about polarity, so if you have a negative ground Healey, check with the bulb manufacturer to see if the bulb you need/want is available for negative ground polarity.

Yes it will work just fine--bulbs do not care about polarity or source of power.

They sell a LED bulb as a replacement. A lot more expensive but will it work on my alternator converted car ? I assume a lot brighter.
