Interesting John, I took the cap off my TC and is not only looks identical
to the one on my BT7, but screws on the BT7 reservoir nice an tight, so I am
quite confident the 1109 part number will fit on both the TC and the Healey,
but as I said, it does not seal when the bleeder is pressurized.
Your solution looks simple! When I get to dealing with this issue, I will
take a close look at this solution.
Thanks, Mirek

Mirek, the recommended cap for the M.G. TC is 1109. I did call tech support
and was told there was not a cap for the Austin-Healey even though the
website states differently. Something interesting is tech support is
provided by the former company owner. He bought the company in 2008 and sold
it in September of 2023. Motive Products is located back east but tech
support is provided by the former owner and the area code for his phone is
408.
I have attached photos of my reservoir and cap. I fabricated a cap from the
lid of a PVC solvent can. It fits the reservoir and seals with one rubber
gasket on the inside.
Cheers,
John

John, I have this same bleeder but the product number for the adaptor is not
listed on my receipt. However, they can tell you which one you need. I
seem to recall that oddly they did not have an early Healey listed, but the
cap on the reservoir is the same as my M.G. TC, and the dealer did have a
listing for the TC, although I don't see it on their web page. Weird. I'd
contact their support people and ask.
That said, I have never been able to get the cap on the bleeder to seal on
the reservoir. I mentioned it to Mike Salter who had a similar problem. It
just does not seem to screw down tight enough, although I can see no logical
reason for it not sealing. It is on my "to do" list (but near the bottom),
to get a used reservoir and experiment to get a better fit.
Lastly, I could not see how one would prevent the brake fluid in the tube
from draining out when the cap was removed. I fitted a check valve in the
line right above the adaptor.
I'd be interested to see if other listers have had issues the adaptor
sealing on the reservoir and how they solved it.
For now, I am back to the old school method and it works fine, I just need
to find another warm body to pump the pedal.
Cheers, Mirek

Does anyone have one of these? I bought one and the Girling cap does not fit
my Moss Motors Classic Gold brake/clutch fluid reservoir. I have a 1962 BT7.
The adaptor above is the red cap and hose, the Girling one.
I think I need the 1100 adaptor pictured below.
If you have one, which adaptor did you have and do you have a product number
you could send me?
Thanks,
John
