I used to live in Malta. Twice actually. Father in royal Navy. Interesting place….lots to see.
Very crowded place. Per square mile or whatever, the most heavily bombed place in WW2.
Interestingly, the Maltese are mad about British classic cars. And – I think – there is or was a member of this group who lives there. Maybe he could stick his head over the parapet…?
See:-
The island with 30,000 classic cars – and the people who own them (telegraph.co.uk) <https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/features/island-30000-classic-cars-people-who/>

Naples….doubt your ship will go there! Per my previous. I went over there, from Malta, in my father’s ship. He was Captain so that was doable. Anyhow, while we were being wined and dined, the crew were ashore seeing the sights and sampling all the local attractions, if you know what I mean. I recall that the Officer of the Watch had to send a shore patrol into some dive aptly named “The Snakepit”!! Some sailors had been ripped off and were kicking off, all fairly predictable. Shore patrol in UK terms is what I think the US called “Snowdrops”…..big guys, big boots, pickaxe handles and an attitude. I think they were told that Naples was more or less a frontier town and they could do what they liked…..go in, get out and if they broke a few local heads, well..never mind. I only heard about it third hand – from Dad’s Leading Steward, I imagine – anyhow, I was very impressed.
You’re being deluged with info, a fair bit of it totally unrealistic. Anyhow, I’m sure you’ll have fun.

May be true, but cruise ship departs from Rome. We have been to Germany, France, great Britain and Spain. This is a different adventure around Greek island, Malta then get off in Barcelona. We will explore there, then Madrid.

And there are much better places in Europe than Rome. Just think to Lisboa, Stockholm, Edinburgh, Hamburg, extremely better, even the food.
