My BJ8 sat for 10 years and once I got the crud off the floats, I started it and it sat at idle just perfect .... as I set it when I parked it. Best cleaner is to drive it!

As someone said, use Dawn or Simple Green, works great. I have used mine for the last four years and it does a great job on carbs.

Well I went to the store and bought it . That’s the good news . The bad news is the cleaner that they sell for it has been back ordered sense last January. I’ll need to look on Amazon or e bay and get some of it .

The only downside is that it has its own timer and will only run something like 3 or 4 minutes and then stop. You have to set it again, and again, and again..

Perhaps it is not standard, I once used a torch on a removed SU to loosen somthing. The fuel/fumes still in it ignited. When the flames subsided and my 1st degree burns were no worse for wear, the carbs looked perfect. All of the crud burned away. Not suggesting this process but hey, it worked for me.

I used it to clean carbs off my old Honda motorcycle last winter.
However the first one broke its heat cycle on its second use so I took it back for another one. It worked OK but not as good as one you find in a motor or machine shop. And it must be disassembled as well as possible but it still requires manual effort
