If you are going to try to get the right part, make sure that the washer has the offset in the coil. The coiled washer without the offset reacts differently, i.e.  Has additional rotational resistance (More like a lock washer}. If you place a flat washer on either side of the spring (Thackary) washer it will help but the combination might be a bit too thick. Photo of washer attachedP
