There is a ball valve at the very top that opens as soon as you look at it and lets the water out on to the road via a copper pipe.
Interestingly the radiator in the BN3 is the same as the Healey Duncan, but it’s pressurised.

I think on these old radiators there should be a small expansion tank in the very top of the radiator tank. You might try soldering a connection on top as the bleed off.

That raises a question that you might be able to help with.
My Healey Duncan has a 0 PSI cap or in other words it’s not meant to be pressurised. However when it gets warmed up and the coolant/water expands there is nowhere for it to go except out the overflow. On a longer run this repeats itself again and again until it overheats.
Don’t want to pressurise the system, but am thinking about an overflow tank.

My A90 is 0 PSI .... still seems to run as cool as the 100 !
