The job went good . After spraying brake cleaner into places that can only be reached with the window winder removed. Then a light spray of WD 40 . The window goes up and down like new. My only problem was once I unscrewed the winder , it is very hard to find the correct angle to move it around to get it out from behind the inner door brace that it and the door opening mechanism mounts to . Does anybody have a method to remove this from behind brace ? I ended up sliding it up as far as I could as the door has a little more depth as the outer door skin contour bulges out . Then pulling that brace out a little I was able to get it out , then go through it again to reinstall it 😩 . Any thoughts would be appreciated as I have a few Healey BJ8 friends that I’m sure will want me to preform this operation on there hard to wind up widows.

Thanks as always, Don 67 BJ8

You have to check the track inside the rear of the door. for whatever reason these are often damaged and bind to the nylon runner. i fixed mine and now the windows work like a dream. You can only get at them by removing the door panel.

Has anyone had any experience with very hard to wind up and down the windows on a BJ-8 . The track are not binding, it appears to be the cranking mechanism that’s very hard to work . Window winder assembly. It’s not cheap $240 with moss. Yes next step is to remove the window and then work the window crank . But we got a show this weekend so that’s next weeks job .
