Mike, when Rich Chrysler did the windscreen on my BT7 he got the rubber strip from Spaenaur  https://spaenaur.com

I recall Rich telling me this was rubber designed for windscreens and I think he coated it with an oil which swelled the rubber and firmly sealed the glass in the channel.  I recall Rich saying there was a limited working time so have everything laid out and perhaps do a dry run before the final install.  This is from memory so I hope I am not misleading you.  You'll have to look through their catalogue to find the right stuff.  I think they have outlets in the states.
