Never see the slotted screws chromed before. When you say the rod down the middle, are you talking about the rod where the push button is on at the top? If so, it is normally painted black.

I’m having mine rechromed.
Are the two big slotted screws that hold the assembly onto the tunnel chromed?
Is the rod down the middle chromed? (Mine has traces of what might have been chrome once).
