Does not have to be thick, like Ira suggested, Cornhead Grease from John Deere is good, I have used it for at least 10 years by now without any issues.

Thanks All,  I’m thinking of going with a heavier gear oil . I’ll let the next owner decide the way to go with it .
 What wt oil should I go with . Some thick gear oil I’m thinking .
