Harold,
AEC 3657 is the top cover for all the centre-shift boxes from Mk II tri-carbs through to the BJ8s. I just checked mine on the dyno to make sure.

Subject: [Healeys] Mystery Transmission
Hello,
I have an option to buy an AH transmission. Unfortunately, I am not able to see it first hand and the existing owner doesn’t know the history. It looks like an authentic AH centre change transmission. There is a tag “Type 29-R-4” on the top cover.
If this came from a Healey what model?
Thanks…. Harold
