[Healeys] Top Seal Caps

Does anyone have pictures of the process for installing the end caps on the seals for the BJ8 top?  Also, I have looked at the archives and note the caps must be cut to fit over the barbed portion of the retainer.  Where is this cut?  Inside the cap where is a “slot” that looks like it should go over the barbed portion or on the outside?
