[Healeys] Need help - how to install BN6 windshield scuttle seal

I bought the Moss seal for my BN6 windshield. It's wrinkled where it was
stuffed into a ziploc.

What is the best lube for getting it through the channel?

Is there a way of smoothing out the wrinkles/buckling?
