OK, from a well known Healey restorer I was told even though two of the lifters are original style and the other six are aftermarket, as long as the pushrod sits at the same hieght,  just use all of them.  I can understand that, but look at the picture.  The aftermarket lifter is the top one.  The pushrod seat of the lifters are different.  The original style seat is almost as wide as the inner diameter of the top of the lifter.  The aftermarket seat has an outer ledge that reduces the diameter of the seat.  I tried fitting a pushrod in each lifter.  The fit was perfect and back and forth movement was smooth in the original style lifter.  The fit in the aftermarket lifter was not so good.  The lifter squeeked when rocked back and forth.  I am not sure the ball on the end of the pushrod is fitting all the way down for full contact in the aftermarket lifter socket

.  This just gets better and better.  Trying not to give this motor a reason to grenade on startup.Mike MacLean
