For the small price difference and added safety factor I have to agree

I would definatly get the 200lb. stand: <https://www.harborfreight.com/2000-lbs-capacity-foldable-engine-stand-69522.html>
[2000 lbs. Capacity Foldable Engine Stand]
PITTSBURGH AUTOMOTIVE

2000 lbs. Capacity Foldable Engine Stand

(322)

$13499

Compare to
 Strongway 47032 at $219.99. Save $85.00
The head is still whimpy and I would add some additional web bracing to the back of the block and support under the front (wood block). I don't know who rates this stuff, but its like the 2 ton floor jack that folds like a cheap suit, when used. You get what you pay for, but in this case, safety is more important. If that block drops onto your foot when you roll it; forget your engine and your foot. Hank (healeyhelper.com)

I take it back. Harbor Freight sells a 750lb capacity stand for $50. The $60 stand has a capacity of 1000lbs and they have one with folding legs that will hold 2000lbs for $135. The four cylinder engine can't be over 750 pounds?

Its heavy! I built my engine stand years ago out of 1/4" tube stock but I still put a wood brace under the engine while it was on the stand. (photo) It sat on that stand for 40+ years until I got around to finishing the car, so I know it did the job...lightweights might be questionable-work safe! Hank

What does the 4 cylinder engine weigh? Harbor Freight has a 700 lb capacity engine stand for $60. How do you attach the 4 cylinder engine to the stand? I find myself having time lately to assemble the engine of my BN2. Short block is finished. Need to put the head and the rest before dropping it in the car.

A quick one. Do you think that this stand is man enough for a 3000’s engine?

Got to be a decent thing and, on four wheels, presumably stable. But, but…..our engines are long and heavy.

What does the team think?

Thanks,

Simon
