[Healeys] sump gasket

Morning Ira.  Your post caused a moment of contemplation. In days gone by, were the oil pan oil capacities increased, as were many cars, to compensate for high volume oil pumps, or to add more volume to allow the oil to maintain a slightly cooler temperature or some other reason?  Manybe multiple reasons…..

anyone have a sum gasket for a 6 cyl engine for sale? I have been using a sump from a race car and I have decided to go back to my stock pan. I just need to knock some dents out of it. Long story...  But basically, tired of putting 9 quarts in it at oil change.
