[Healeys] Starter Rebuild Long Shot

 CP Generators rebuilt my starter motor and generator.  They had to make some brushes for the generator, but the rest of the rebuild was done in a day.  They used to be in Los Angeles, but recently moved to Fontana and have been a family business for 57 years.  Some of the workers in the back have been there over 30 years.  Highly recommended in the local restoration community.  Highly rated on Yelp also.  Very reasonable prices, much less than Star.  You will have to paint the unit yourself unless you want it black.

 Starters, generators, (and alternators) are not rocket science.  I just used the local automotive starter repair shop.  They know how to rewind, grind stators, and rebearing these things ....they do it all the time and the costs are quite reasonable.  (I think I paid $50 to get a generator rebuilt).  Maybe there is some sort of special "Lucas" magic needed to make the thing concours.....but I doubt it.  Everything the rebuild shop does is inside the casing and not visible from outside AFAIK.
